Jacob Kern is a motion designer and art director based out of Brooklyn, New York. He has 13+ years of experience in the motion design industry, 10 of those years working as a dedicated freelancer with studios, agencies, and businesses of all shapes and sizes. Having studied film and television at The University of Texas at Austin, Jacob comes from a background in directing, producing, and editing for commercials, documentaries, and narrative films. He has directed multiple award-winning short films distributed by PBS and The Mental Health Channel. In recent years, Jacob notably art directed and motion designed the graphics package for the Emmy-nominated feature documentary, The River and The Wall (2017).

Extracurricularly, Jacob spends his time racing single speed mountain bikes, sewing, and going for leisurely walks with his partner and their long-haired Chihuahua, Pigeon.
